Current Openings:

IMMEDIATE OPENING for an experience residential (shingle) roof mechanic/ foreman.

Requirements: ​Extensive knowledge and experience w/ residential roofing (minimum 3 years desired). MUST HAVE a valid Driver’s License (Company vehicle provided).

If you do not meet the requirements within this description, please do not apply. Candidates without a driver’s license or specified experience in residential roofing will not be considered.

The Foreman will report directly to a Production Manager. A Foreman is primarily charged with maintaining their assigned construction vehicle in a state of readiness, supervising the Roofing Crew and reporting job site information. The Roofing Foreman must be proficient in all aspects of the Roofing Crew Job Description. The work week is targeted at 40 hours: however, it is not uncommon for the work week to exceed 60 hours or for individual work days to exceed 12 hours. The expectation is that the individual who takes on this position is flexible enough to comply with these potentially diverse hours of construction.

    • Run residential repair leads, inspect/diagnose roof issues, estimate, and sell residential repairs.

  • Safety and Security – Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions ; Uses equipment and materials properly.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
College or program certificate; 5 – 7 years of experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Ability to sell and up-sell roof repairs.
  • Must be able to diagnose roof problem causes and best solutions.
  • Language Skills – Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Mathematical – Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers in order to estimate jobs.
  • Reasoning – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Must be able to properly flash chimneys and do all detail work on residential roof installation.
  • Reporting – All required reports are to be completed neatly and accurately. Upon completion of a job return Project Information with complete Work Order and Expense Report to the Roofing Manager.
  • Upon completion of each day’s work, make sure job site is fully cleaned and that all work meets workmanship standards. Check in with the Production Manager and property owner (if available) prior to departure.
  • Attendance/Punctuality/ Dependability – Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent.

Good with tools? Not afraid of heights? Make it to the top by becoming a roofer. Roofers work on houses and buildings to build, maintain and repair roofs. They use a variety of tools and materials to get the job done and depending on the type of roof, including asphalt, galvanized steel, and shingles.

Roofing is a craft that takes time and balance. Roofers must be able to align the shingles or other materials properly in order to protect the house from weather like wind, rain and snow. Roofers may need to inspect damage on roofs, estimate costs and materials to fix or build a roof, install insulation or vapor barriers, cut materials to fit corners and against walls, and seal everything to avoid leaks. Other roofs may need to be covered in tar and gravel to protect it from the elements.

JOB SKILLS/ REQUIREMENTS:

  • MUST HAVE a valid Driver’s License
  • Balance: Roofers work on roofs, which might have very steep pitches. Balance is crucial to the job and a roofer’s safety.
  • Strength: Roofers need to be able to carry heavy materials, like bundles of shingles, up ladders and onto roofs.
  • Stamina: Roofers spend most of their day on their feet outside, sometimes during intense heat or cold.
  • No Fear of Heights: Roofs can be very high. Roofers need to be steady and unafraid of being in high places.
  • Working knowledge of commercial/industrial roofing procedures and safety.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Experience with: Single Ply, EPDM, PVC, & TPO.
  • A valid state driver’s license (in good standing).
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. and climb up and down ladders to minimum heights of 25 feet.
  • Able to work within a TEAM environment.
  • Able to work Saturday and/or Sunday, if needed.
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • May be asked to complete Drug Test and/or Background Test (Dependent on Specific Jobs)
  • Must have reliable transportation

THE POSITION

This is a great opportunity to work with an established, vibrant company looking for a few dynamic individuals to represent us on the Peninsula and Southside. We are looking for a sales associate with a “hunter mentality”, meaning you are actively pursuing sales opportunities outside the leads you are given (i.e. taking time to visit clients and continuing to strengthen those relationships). THIS IS A FULL-TIME POSITION.

Requirements:

  • Valid ID and clean driving record
  • 2-5 years sales experience with proven track record
  • Outstanding customer service/ communication skills
  • Ability to climb ladders and walk roofs
  • Must be punctual, well groomed, well dressed, and must have better than average presentation and communication skills
  • Some heavy lifting may be required

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Experienced in Residential / Commercial – Shingle Systems, Flat Roof Systems, Waterproofing and Gutters.
  • Computer skills – Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • The ability to learn new programs and systems
  • Basic math, including geometry
  • Ability to write detailed proposals
  • Able to work in a Company environment
  • Team player
  • Organized
