Why are you passionate about your job?

I find it rewarding to work with building owners and homeowners to resolve their issues.

What does a typical day in your job position look like?

I help with all aspects of the business from sales and office administration to field operations and training. I advise employees on how to handle situations that they encounter and answer questions from customers about their projects.

Name a few of your daily habits that help you in your workplace! (Blogs, Podcasts, News Shows, Books, Etc.)

Facebook groups have become one of the best ways to network and learn new information shared by others in the field. I will also read blogs and try to stay up to date with the National Roofing Contractors Association.

What are you most likely to be doing when you’re not working?

Spending time with my family and friends; I also enjoy fishing and golfing.

What advice would you give a candidate who wants to join our team of superstars?

This experience is whatever you make it. This industry will allow you plenty of opportunities to move up if you fully apply yourself and make an effort to learn everything you can.

If you could have any role within the company other than your current one, what would it be and why?

Probably estimating. I like critical thinking and looking at the little details of a project. I like working with the numbers and seeing what everything costs, going over the specifications, and really understanding all that goes into each project.

I enjoy working with the financials and the small details that go into the business.

In a way, my whole life, but almost ten years, technically.

Why are you passionate about your job?

I enjoy the interaction with our customers and being able to help a business I’ve been a part of my whole life continue to grow; working with my dad and brother is a plus!

What does a typical day in your job position look like?

Come in, check emails, do the daily bank reconciliation, work on any ongoing projects, and just go with the flow. Every day is different.

What are you most likely to be doing when you’re not working?

Spending time with my kids! Chasing my toddler around and taking care of my newborn.

You get out of your job what you put into it. There are great opportunities to learn and grow around every corner.

Meeting all of the clients and conveying to them all of the ways that Tidewater Roofing can help them.

Why are you passionate about your job?

I am not confined to an office. I get the opportunity to meet and work with people while helping the company grow.

What does a typical day in your job position look like?

I visit with 8-10 people, both existing clients and potential clients. I speak with them about the Tidewater story and the ways that we can help solve their issues. I report back to the office to write up reports and update information. The day ends by following up with those I’ve spoken with earlier in the week.

What are you most likely to be doing when you’re not working?

I enjoy fishing, golfing, and spending time with my grandkids

Come in ready and willing to learn.

I love my current position;I wouldn’t want to be doing anything else.

I enjoy meeting and working with people.

Why are you passionate about your job?

I like to be able to help clients solve their roof issues. I love the fact that I see different types of roof systems and the different challenges that come with commercial buildings. Its not the same thing day in and day out.

What does a typical day in your job position look like?

Climbing ladders to access roofs, Investigating leaks, measuring roofs, crunching numbers, making and taking calls. Typing proposals, presentations to clients. It goes on and on and on. 🙂

What is ONE silly/funny fact about yourself?

I’m 7′-8” tall, shoulder width 48” and wear a size 6 shoe. 🙂

I enjoy spending time with family and playing golf when I have the time.

I really enjoy fabricating the metal. I like that it’s hands-on and I can work at my own pace.

Why are you passionate about your job?

I enjoy the freedom of working outside doing something I enjoy. I’d go crazy sitting inside at a desk all day.

What does a typical day in your job position look like?

Every day is different depending on what’s scheduled for that day. I make gutters, look over sub-crews, and gather materials—it can get a little hectic.

I love listening to music while I work. I’ll listen to pretty much everything, just depends on the day.

What are you most likely to be doing when you’re not working?

I enjoy playing video games, cooking, and playing outside with my dog.

What advice would you give a candidate who wants to join our team of superstars?

This is a great place to learn all of the different systems because we do it all. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved and learn new things if you just apply yourself.

If you could have any role within the company other than your current one, what would it be and why?

Maybe sales or an account manager. Just for a change of scenery and, as much as I love this job, it definitely takes a toll on the body.
